Coding Auditor Position Summary

Performs data quality reviews on provider records to validate the ICD-9, CPT and HCPC codes. Audits provider records for accuracy of principal and secondary diagnosis and/or procedures and ensures compliance with all reporting requirement. Educates providers on coding guidelines and requirements. Provides coding support to PRMG coding and billing staff. Performs Probe, RAC’s and internal audits as needed by internal and external sources. Generate reports as needed for department evaluations.

Coding Auditor Position Requirements

Education

BS in Health Information Management preferred. Certification as CPC and CPMA.

Experience

Five years inpatient/outpatient coding experience serving in a data management, coding management, or coding auditing position

Coding Auditor Work Schedule

Day Shift, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend work as needed. Expected to be available in emergency situations.
