Job Summary: 
Join our dedicated team as a Coding Integrity Manager, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our coding practices. You will collaborate closely with the Vice President of Integrity, leading a team that is committed to excellence in coding and documentation. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization by enhancing revenue accuracy and supporting our mission to provide quality healthcare. We are looking for a detail-oriented leader with strong analytical skills and a passion for mentoring others. 

In this role, you will oversee the Coding Integrity Team, review clinical documentation, and respond to coding review requests related to claim denials. You will also supervise and train Coding Integrity Specialists, ensuring compliance with coding standards and fostering cross-department collaboration.

Key Responsibilities: 
• Respond to requests for coding reviews related to denials, rejections, and initiative-taking monitoring. 
• Review clinical documentation for accurate diagnosis and procedure code assignment. 
• Query providers following compliant coding query standards. 
• Supervise, train, and verify the work of Coding Integrity Specialists. 
• Monitor updates to ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT coding systems and adjust practices accordingly. 
• Prepare and present coding review reports. 
• Maintain documentation of review findings and analysis. 
• Collaborate with Training & Development for provider education on documentation and coding. 
• Coordinate with Revenue Cycle to ensure revenue accuracy. 
• Facilitate additional coding review activities as needed. 
• Stay current with coding guidelines and industry standards. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications: 
• Associate’s degree in related fields such as health information management required. 
• Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
• Active credential: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC required. 
• Minimum two years of medical coding experience required. 

 

 

Additional Qualifications: 
• Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check. 
• Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance. 

 

 

Physical Requirements: 
• ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
