Aspirus Inc. in Wausau, WI is seeking a CODING QUALITY AUDITOR to join our team!
The Coding Quality Auditor reviews medical record documentation for accuracy and completeness and verify that it supports the code assigned for billing. Monitor documentation to establish medical necessity for the service. Monitor documentation practices that may be at higher risk for problems such as templated documentation. Act as a resource to Aspirus, Inc. providers, clinic staff, and patients regarding appropriate documentation and coding principles. Research and analyze data relative to the risk area, new revenue opportunities, and provider profiles.
HOURS: Full time, 1.0 FTE or 80 hours per two weeks pay period. Flexible schedule.
Experience/Qualifications
· Degree in Coding, RHIT or Healthcare Business Services, with emphasis in coding or a minimum of five years coding experience required.
· CPC, RHIT, and/or CCS certification required within 18 months of hire.
· Previous computer experience required.
· Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, billing practices, reimbursement practices, and clinic policies and procedures.
· Knowledge of Provider Based Billing, RHC, and Non-Provider based regulations.
· Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type correspondence.
· Ability to assess medical record documentation for accuracy and completeness.
· Possesses ability to work and communicate effectively with co-workers and physicians.
· Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
· Skill in use of resource materials.
· Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the prior medical office experience
