What we’re looking for:
Reporting to the Chief Clinical Strategist, the seasoned Inpatient Coding Specialist is a member of the Customer Success organization who will provide inpatient coding expertise and insight.

What you’ll do: Develop and maintain comprehensive medical coding rules for ICD-10-CM/PCS, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Analyze and interpret coding guidelines and regulations to create clear, concise and accurate coding rules. Analyze and interpret inpatient medical records and or coding rules accurately translating clinical terminology into standardized coding rules. Enhance coding efficiency and accuracy by identifying relevant coding terminology to leverage NLP tools. Conduct regular audits and testing to validate coding rule accuracy and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with the product development team to integrate coding rules into software applications, ensuring seamless functionality. Stay abreast with industry trends and regulatory changes to maintain coding rule relevance and accuracy. What we’d love to see: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information (RHIT) or Bachelors degree in related field with appropriate coding certification 3-5 years of inpatient coding experience required (MUST BE INPATIENT CODING) One of the following coding credentials is required: CPC , CIC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA  Experience in ICD-10-CM & PCS code assignment for diagnoses and procedures based on inpatient medical records Must have working knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as medical terminology Knowledge of current Official Coding Guidelines and methodologies, MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, the ICD-10-CM/PCS coding systems and conventions Detail oriented and highly organized Quick and efficient learner. Strong ability to multitask, problem-solve and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to self-manage, strong time management skills Ability to work in an extremely confidential environment Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
