Your role at Baxter

Complete operation and maintenance tasks for cogeneration systems like electrical substations, generator sets, chillers, and heat recovery gas system to guarantee smooth plant operation. Operate and maintain stationary utility equipment including steam boilers, auxiliary equipment, pumps, compressors, fans, cooling towers, water treatment systems, stills, reverse osmosis, and related water and air conditioning systems among other relevant equipment. Perform all responsibilities in accordance with cGMP's, OSHA, EPA, EQB, PRASA, and other regulatory agencies.

What you'll be doing

Operate utility systems following industry-standard methodologies and processes.

Complete maintenance of electric absorption chillers and cooling towers.

Complete and operate maintenance of natural gas, propane gas, and engines power plants.

Perform maintenance activities or tasks to utility equipment such as packing valves, repairing pipelines, replacing gauge glasses, pumps, fans, PLCs, and related equipment.

Regulate the volume of water in boilers and auxiliary equipment, keeping all parameters within limits.

Maintain areas and equipment always cleaned.

Monitor, maintain, and support various systems including PRASA, water systems, odor control, and air systems.

Perform chemical tests on boilers, cooling towers, softener carbon filters, and related equipment.

Maintain and prepare all recorded data forms, logs, and gauge readings.

Operate the Interface Terminal.

Willing to work any shift, holidays, and shutdowns, and during Plant emergencies.

Communicate effectively through different organizational levels.

Attend required training when requested by area supervisor, according to training needs analysis.

Capable of interpreting charts.

Able to work with minimal supervision, handle critical situations, and make decisions when required.

Able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.

Teamwork oriented.

Should be able to work any shift, holidays, and extra hours when required.

Paint surfaces of equipment.

Perform water pressure tests by pumping water into the system to determine the location of leaks.

Remove and replace defective firebrick.

Provide suggestions to improve the operation and/or maintenance of equipment, processes, and procedures.

Perform daily checks on all the critical utilities.

What you'll bring

Associate degree experience in Industrial Mechanics or Electrician. Experience in pharmaceutical ambiance. Computer knowledge and electrician helper experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively with the immediate supervisor, peers, and coworkers.

Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand English/Spanish languages.

Physical demands

Employee will stand, use hands, reach, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear.

Work environment

Employee regularly encounters wet/humid conditions, rotating equipment, heights, confined spaces, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat, electrical shock risk, explosives, vibration, and loud noise.
