Coil Winder - 2nd shift
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Coil Winder - 2nd shift. The hourly rate for this position is $18.50 per hour. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** **Job Summary** Use defined procedures/processes/specifications and cmoputer-controlled coil winding machine to set-up, wind, and insulate primary and/or secondary transformer coils. **Job Responsibilities** + Ensure punctual attendance. + Idenitfy coil part numbers and quantities from Run Sheet, retrieve necessary small parts, and input part numbers on the computer-controlled coil winding maching during set up. + Accurately interpret winding specifications. + Set up coil winding machine following specifications on the setup screen, including mandrel size, duct parts, insulation tape type, etc. + Install and adjust devices on the machine to meet window sizing specification, load strip, conductor, and insulation paper onto dereeling mechanisms. + Measure materials, make adjustment, and verify alignment. + Place and adjust coil form according to specifications. + Activate the machine to feed materials and follow instructions on the run screen for various functions. + Wind coils at specified rate per hour. + Label coils with ID number, work order number, part number, and clock number. + Utilize measuring devices including but not limited to hydraulic tools, hand tools, brazing, soldering, pliers, scissors, rubber hammer, ratchet, wrenches, and bending tools. + Perform rework on damaged or defective coils to ensure quality standards. + Conduct minor adjustments and routine upkeep of winding machines. + Weigh and log scrap metal in the database and follow proper disposal proctocols. + Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. Adheres to safety protocols and ensures efficient material handling. + Achieves and maintains target production rates or output levels ensuring efficient operations and meeting organizational goals. + Adhere to safety protocols, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures. + Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization. + Fulfill other manufacturing duties as assigned. **Qualifications:** **Education level required** + No education required. **Years and area of experience required** + Relevant work experienced preferred. + Previous experience in manufacturing preferred. **Skills:** **Technical knowledge** Works from quality and production standards and computerized winding sheets/prints to interpret coil specifications accurately. Perform basic mathematical functions as required. **Soft skills** Demonstrates effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic, comprehends written and verbal work instructions accurately, and upholds Eaton’s Values and Philosophy. **Environmental Abilites** Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as outlined below. **Hand/Arm** Over the Elbow Sleeves Gloves (Optional) **Eye/Face** Safety Glasses Brazing Glasses **Ear** Ear plugs **Foot** Steel Toe Work efficiently in hot enviornments and tolerate loud noises. **Physical Requirements** + Lift up to 40 lbs. + Ability to flip various sized units up to and including 40 lbs. + Perform physical tasks such as frequent bending, stooping, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and use both hands and upper extremities to lift / lower materials and perform tasks of a repetitive nature with or without reasonable accomodation.
