Principal duties of the successful candidate will include: + Participating in safety and housekeeping efforts + Lead process optimization activities, both quality and cost + Provide technical support and training for all operational activities + Utilizing statistical process control tools to direct continuous improvement activities + Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuous improvement [[cust_safetyState]] Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent steel production experience. + Experience in a steel mill in the form of prior work experience (internships or full-time) Preferred Qualifications: + Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems + Experience with coordinating and executing trials, dispositioning material, reporting data, and improving quality + Experience as a mill metallurgist + Experience with customer support, both internally and externally Nucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer – M/F/Disabled/Vets – and a drug – free workplace
