\nReceives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties.
\n\n
Essential Duties:
\n\nReads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.\nConveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.\nSorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.\nSorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.\nFills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.\nAssembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.\nMarks materials with identifying information.\nOpens bales, crates, and other containers.\nRecords amounts of materials or items received or distributed.\nWeighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.\nArranges stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.\nUses computer to enter records.\nCompiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.\nDrives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.\nCompletes requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.\nPrepares parcels for mailing.\nMaintains inventory records.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n\n
Qualifications:
\n\nHigh school diploma or GED preferred; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nAbility to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print simple sentences.\nAbility to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.\nAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.\nMust be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.\n\n\n
