ABOUT THE ROLE: 

The purpose of the Cold Store Operative is to receive in all finished goods from production as well as loading and unloading vehicles to Company standards. Working as part of a team in the Cold Store department, you will also check quantities and descriptions are as advised as well as maintaining quality, hygiene, and safety standards at all times.

 

Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

Ensure all pallets are fully wrapped, labelled and received on to stock using the Lantec wrapping machine, WMS and Markem labelling systemCheck that all product being bought on to stock is undamaged and, using the WMS system, check the product description, product code, best before end date and count are all correctCommunicate with Team Leader on all production product changes and breakdownsEnsure that, where appropriate, all company documentation and procedures are followed and executed in the correct manner to company requirementsChecks stock being handled is undamaged (does not include restricted stock) and using WMS system, checks product description, product code, best before end date and correct countLoads pallets onto vehicles, using safe working practices and checks both pallets and vehicles are cleanOperates a fork lift truck in accordance with company policy, transporting pallets of product or empty pallets from the loading bay to cold store or auto palletisingPrepares all products which are less than full pallet quantity, ensuring the G.K.N pallets is clean and safe to usePicks product, ensuring it is undamaged, not restricted and is checked for correct type, code number and quantity.  Collects product from correct location, keeping pallets level at all times

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR… 

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working in an warehouse environment, coupled with excellent attanetion to detail and the ability to use your own initiative.

 

Reporting into the Cold Store Supervisor you’ll also have…

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?
The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK? 
You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
