Description
We are looking for a driven and experienced Collections Supervisor to oversee and support our client's collections team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves both leadership and hands-on contributions, requiring a strategic approach to collections while fostering team growth and efficiency. The ideal candidate will excel at setting clear expectations, tracking performance metrics, and resolving complex account issues while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise the daily operations of the collections team to ensure prompt follow-up and resolution of overdue accounts.
• Manage a personal portfolio of high-priority or challenging accounts to achieve timely collections.
• Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team effectiveness and improve collection strategies.
• Establish clear goals for team members, track their progress, and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
• Train and mentor team members on effective collection techniques, negotiation strategies, and customer interaction skills.
• Ensure adherence to company policies and legal regulations in all collection activities.
• Address escalated customer concerns with professionalism and efficiency to maintain positive relationships.
• Collaborate with internal departments to streamline processes and resolve account-related issues.
• Prepare detailed reports on collection performance, aging trends, and areas requiring attention for management review.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to boost efficiency and recovery rates.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in collections, including 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of collections practices, account reconciliation, and credit policies.
• Proven ability to develop and monitor performance metrics and KPIs.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on motivating and guiding teams.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in collections software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
