Collections Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team in Westlake Village, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a critical role in managing accounts receivable, resolving billing inquiries, and maintaining accurate financial records. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in collections who are ready to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment. Responsibilities: • Partner with sales and customer service teams to address and resolve customer billing concerns efficiently. • Monitor accounts receivable to identify overdue accounts and follow up to ensure timely payments. • Maintain detailed records of collection activities, payment histories, and outstanding balances. • Negotiate and establish payment plans with customers while providing exceptional service throughout the process. • Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve payment discrepancies, such as chargebacks or underpayments. • Prepare and deliver regular reports on accounts receivable aging, overdue accounts, and cash collections. • Utilize NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to track billing and collection activities with precision. • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all collections are accurately recorded. • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on collection trends and financial data. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in collections or accounts receivable management. • Proficiency in accounting software systems, including NetSuite and CRM platforms. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting. • Experience handling billing functions, claim administration, and collection processes. • Ability to negotiate payment plans and resolve financial discrepancies effectively. • Familiarity with tools such as ADP, Epic Software, and Accurint is a plus. • Excellent communication skills for answering inbound calls and addressing customer concerns. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple accounts effectively.
