Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in the Credit Union industry, based in Newport News, Virginia. This role primarily involves supporting the collections and legal teams by processing customer information and payments, as well as filing necessary legal documentation. Responsibilities: • Facilitate the collections process through accurate and efficient credit application processing • Liaise between collections and legal teams to ensure seamless communication • Submit required legal documentation in a timely and precise manner • Manage customer information entries and updates with keen attention to detail • Administer payment information entries and ensure their accuracy • Act as the point of contact for customer inquiries and issues • Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate action when needed • Utilize 'Accounts Receivable (AR)', 'Answering Inbound Calls', 'Billing Functions', 'Claim Administration', 'Collection Processes', and 'Collections - Consumer' skills to enhance job performance. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in Collections or a closely related field. • Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR) processes. • Experience in answering inbound calls, with an emphasis on customer service and dispute resolution. • Demonstrated knowledge of billing functions, including invoicing and payment processing. • Familiarity with claim administration, including filing, tracking, and resolution. • Understanding of collection processes and best practices. • Experience in consumer collections, including negotiating payment plans and settlements.
