RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Collections Specialist you will draw heavily on your customer service skills to reach a resolution with Merchants regarding outstanding balances on accounts. Someone successful in this role is organized and detail oriented to document account activity and progress.

Contact Merchants with outstanding debt or delinquent accounts

Call past due and charge-off accounts

Coordinate payment plans, skip tracing, and send collection letters and invoices

Sends reports to credit bureaus

Respond to disputes

Locate individuals with un-met financial responsibilities

Reviews bankruptcy cases

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: (Required)

Education and Experience: HS/GED and 0 years

Basic computer knowledge and skills

Must be 18 years of age or older


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Desired but not required)

1 year collections experience

Superior customer-oriented telephone etiquette to get information. Greets callers, establishes rapport, projects a professional tone, handles complaints and records statistics on each call.

Exhibits meticulous attention to detail

Demonstrates persistence, overcomes obstacles, and strives to improve skills and achieve goals

Update clients, superiors, and peers based on information needs

Can be trusted to handle extremely confidential and sensitive information

Capable of facilitating discussion between individuals with different perspectives

Effective organizational skills.
