Collector
Vontier
**What you will do**
The Collector will work within a Collections Team based in the US to actively minimize aged debt through effective collection processes. This is a strong telephone-based role; calls inbound and outbound are a priority, actively calling customers to collect outstanding invoices, along with liaising internally to resolve any customer queries. Work together with the US Collections team to ensure timely payments are received from customers. Achieve collection targets, reduce bad debt, and resolve open issues each week/month. The Collector will have assigned accounts; however, on a daily basis it is all about teamwork and actioning cases and queries that are received. We aim for a one-touch customer experience; incoming calls are taken, and the team member takes relevant action to process those queries.
Responsibilities and Duties:
+ Prioritizing inbound and outbound calls for day-to-day collection of outstanding invoices, ensuring customers pay to agreed terms.
+ Taking ownership and responsibility for assigned accounts to ensure weekly/monthly collection targets are met.
+ Handling queries and resolving problems efficiently.
+ Ensuring debts are collected before they become overdue while ensuring older debts are collected and dealt with as a priority.
+ Building relationships with external customers and internal colleagues to achieve the best result for the business, via telephone, email, and Teams.
+ Receiving, responding and resolving customer queries in a timely manner that come into the department via email and telephone.
+ Assisting with month-end/weekly reporting and reconciliations.
+ Maintaining accurate records.
+ Adherence to a Collection Strategy that includes the usage of existing collections tools and processes.
+ Undertake other general financial administration tasks as required.
**Who you are**
+ 2 plus years of Collections or debt recovery experience in a fast-paced industry.
+ Competent user of MS Office, including working knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level.
+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to build links and establish rapport with customers and colleagues.
+ Confident in handling potentially difficult situations and conversations and able to make the right decision for the best outcome.
+ Ability to reconcile complex accounts, persevering until a query is resolved.
+ Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
+ Strong Verbal & Written communication skills – experience in making high volume of collection calls per day and responding to several emails per day.
+ Fluent English required (Verbal and Written).
+ A proactive team player who is highly motivated to achieve set objectives/targets.
+ Ability to use own initiative when required, work independently, with a confident, assertive, and resilient attitude.
