**GENERAL DUTIES**
- Under supervision, performs miscellaneous clerical, administrative, research or other work related to the operation of a College or other unit where such work is required on a part-time basis or for a period of limited duration.
- There is one Assignment Level for this position. All personnel perform related work. This specification describes typical assignments; related duties may be assigned as
needed.
- Maximum tenure for any employee in this hourly position is 1040 hours per year.
- Performs routine clerical work; may answer and attend to telephone calls; maintain records,
operate office machines (such as copier), sort and distribute mail, issue keys and identity cards,
act as messenger, and perform related tasks as required.
- Types letters, memoranda, charts, and similar materials.
- Acts as cashier.
- Assists in statistical or research activities. May collect and compile data, code data for computer entry, perform data entry, and run computer reports.
- Performs clerical library work, such as sorting and shelving books, performing data entry into library systems, or binding books and periodicals.
- Assists in instructional programs, including tutoring and assisting students in areas such as reading and mathematics. May assist in speech and hearing therapy, provide musical accompaniment, and/or distribute and collect physical education equipment.
- Enters and maintains departmental records such as inventory control records, rosters, directories, and schedules.
- May operate computers, computer software, and other electronic equipment in performing assigned tasks.

**CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
Position Description:
In collaboration with eight of CUNY’s senior campuses, Macaulay Honors College (MHC) provides the most promising undergraduate students with an elite academic program of interdisciplinary seminars, personalized advisement, and experiential learning supported by dedicated funding for study abroad, internships, and research. With an entering class of approximately 550 students distributed on campuses across the five boroughs of New York City, Macaulay’s student body embraces the diversity of New York and represents the best and brightest of our next generation of leaders.
General Duties:
The College Assistants for Admissions and Recruitment must rapidly become familiar with Macaulay Honors College, its program, curriculum, and functions. The College Assistant will work 20 hours per week (February, 2025 through September, 2025). The College Assistant’s duties will be assigned by the Director of Enrollment Management (or Associate Dean for Student Services and Engagement in the absence of the Director) for a variety of specific activities including, but not limited to, the following:
-Assist in the overall management of undergraduate new student recruitment
-Assist with coverage of high school recruitment events within the five boroughs
-Communicate admissions and recruitment information to incoming students and families through events, presentations, emails, phone calls, and social media
-Maintain recruitment tracking spreadsheet
-Assist with Enrollment Management events
-Assist with all student activities’ financial transactions and record keeping (e.g., ongoing ordering of food, beverages and supplies; collection and processing of receipts, invoices, reimbursements).
-Provide administrative and logistical assistance for ongoing Enrollment Management activities and events, including but not limited to: Information Sessions, Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, etc.
-Assist with the planning and execution of new student orientation
-Assist with the planning and execution of family orientation
-Provide direct evening and weekend support during college-wide events, including assisting with the coordinating of equipment, furniture, and supplies at various locations
Other duties as assigned
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Must demonstrate sufficient skills to perform the duties of the assigned tasks.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
A bachelor’s degree is preferred. The successful candidate for the position of College Assistants for Admissions and Recruitment will possess excellent organizational, administrative, and computer skills, including knowledge of the entire MS Office Suite. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple projects at once are required. Experience working with prospective students and families and a strong customer-service orientation are preferred. The position will entail the handling of confidential academic information and will also require an individual with demonstrated tact and maturity.
**COMPENSATION**
$20.00 per hour
