Colorado Area/Department Leader - Transportation Market

As the Colorado Area/Department Leader for the Transportation Market, you'll be responsible for direct reports of Group Leaders (GLs) and Managers of Projects (MOPs), with the fundamental goal of supporting the growth of our business and staff in close partnership with sales leadership in the area. This position will be located in one of our Denver area offices and require three days per week in the office.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as a recognized leader in the local market by clients and the industry, actively engaging to strengthen Jacobs’ relationships and elevate our position and brand.
- Establish a strong presence in the local market and community by actively engaging in events, representing our brand externally, enhancing market visibility, attracting top talent, and being recognized as a leader by our clients.
- Supervise and provide leadership to a market-aligned team of Group Leaders (GLs) and Managers of Projects (MOPs)
- Work in partnership with our Director of Operations (DO) and other leaders to deliver the operational performance for the PU (achieve gross margin goals, manage the General & Administrative to budget, hire for growth)
- Coordinate across the market, geography, region, and globally to optimize resource management/workload leveling and provide opportunities for staff growth.
- In close coordination with MOPs, drive performance expectations and accountability related to meeting quality expectations on all delivered work.
- Manage staff performance and career development, utilizing our performance process and succession planning.
- Coordinate with GLs, Project Managers (PMs), and MoPs to optimize our global team engagement across the market portfolio to achieve market targets as part of overall geographic goals.
- Act as hiring manager where appropriate for new staff locally, working in concert with others around established hiring plans
- Partner with Market Solutions Leaders, Market Growth Directors and Client Account Managers to action growth strategy supporting staffing proposals, identify appropriate staffing for projects, deliver differentiated solutions to clients, and support staff growth, development, and career opportunities.
- Build a strong team culture in concert with market strategy, and communicate with aligned staff routinely
'- A minimum of 15 years industry experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Strong project delivery experience and industry exposure in the market; preferably with strong relationships at CDOT
- Ability to lead through inclusion, inspiration, and innovation
- High level of demonstrated emotional intelligence/team builder and inspirational leadership
- Adept at interpersonal relationship building, conflict resolution, and leading diverse teams
- Strong social, networking, and communication skills (both internal and external)
- Proven track record as a leader in their business
- Demonstrated aptitude and ability to build a team
