Opportunity Details:
Diagnose and treat a broad range of benign and malignant colon and anorectal conditions in both elective and emergency settings Perform advanced surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries Participate in colorectal cancer screening and surveillance programs (including diagnostic colonoscopy and polypectomy) Manage conditions such as: Colorectal cancer: Anal cancer, carcinomatosis, colon cancer, rectal cancer, recurrent rectal cancer Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): Crohn's disease, perianal Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, indeterminate colitis Collaborate with gastroenterology, oncology, radiology, pathology, and other specialties in patient care Provide inpatient consults and manage pre- and post-operative care Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adherence to evidence-based practices Participate in hospital tumor boards and multidisciplinary case reviews Engage in teaching opportunities with surgical residents or medical students Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system Provide care for patients presenting with emergent general surgical conditions as part of the Emergency General Surgery (EGS) on-call coverage Participate in the Emergency General Surgery on-call schedule
