The role
As a Multi Skilled Operative you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We currently have an opportunity in our Combat Systems team to provide multi skilled support for the Fleet Engineering teams as and when directed by section Team Leaders or line management. We are the towed array and torpedo loading party, the MSOs primary role is to conduct these operations. 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll provide support to engineering teams to enable the completion of all planned preventative maintenance to ensure the department meets the objectives of the Business

 

To provide support to engineering teams to enable the identification and rectification of all system, manufacture, defects and alterations to ensure the continued availability and performance of Clyde HM Submarines, Surface Craft and the Estate. Ensure that work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity in accordance with set objectives and timescales.  Work within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems Of Work and control of work processes within BM&T Clyde policies.

 

This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.

 

This role is full time, 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday with a half day on the Friday and is based on site at Faslane. Overtime available depending on business needs. 

 

Essential experience of the Multi Skilled Operative 

Fleet Engineering activities and equipment e.g. scaffolding, FLT operations, slinging preferrable Manual handling Risk Assessments, COSHH & Safe Systems of Work Control, issue and return of work equipment. Keen to learn and take on any training provided

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
