This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain and maintain an Interim DoD Secret level clearance post-employment.

 

Our team is lead by a Program Manager having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding industry.  Our Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy amphibious ships and craft, and we are committed to providing the U.S. Navy with the engineering and subject matter expertise to face all challenges, and welcome those with dedication, talent, and skill sets to join the Serco team.

 

You will work closely with the Government and inddustry professionals as well as shipbuilders and other support personnel.  Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact towards our military defense and safety of our Sailors and Marines.

 

In this role, you will:

 

Support the Test Division in test services including Ship Self-Defense System/Cooperative Engagement Capability (SSDS/CEC) installation, light off, software installation, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance/repair, integration, engineering, and technical support for ships at the building yard.

Support may include:

Provide on-site test engineering and technical support for ship industrial testing.Establish and maintain an effective liaison with Supervisor of Shipbuilding and with other Navy, Government, and Contractor activities as required.Participation in at sea testing is required of all test personnel.  Underway trials and travel support of Post Delivery availabilities and testing at other locations such as Norfolk VA, San Diego CA, and Mayport FL will be required.  Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant testing, maintenance, and operation experience with Ship Self-Defense Systems (SSDS) and Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) troubleshooting, repairing and testing of associated equipment and systems.  Individuals with technical schools or military certifications will be considered.Must be able to obtain an Interim DoD Secret clearance post-employment.Ability to operate personal computers and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools.Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility.  Some work may occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship whtil the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials.  Walking and climbing throughout the ship to accomplish ship checks may be required.  Exposure to high level noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.Ability to travel (less than 10%) to suppprt activities in a shipyard or naval facility or onboard ship while underway.

Additional desired experience and skills:

Relevant U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience in the areas of ship construction or ship repair is desired.  Amphibious warship construction or ship repair work experience is ideal.Bachelor's level degree in an Engineering discipline is desired.Experience is desired supporting DoD/Navy ACAT I Programs.
