BAE Systems is tasked with designing and implementing new product and technology to Combat Mission Systems (CMS) program. In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Sterling Heights, MI facility. Relocation will not be offered, and housing is not provided. As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will work closely with electrical engineering staff or electrical designers to support one or more aspects of the Combat Vehicle design/build process, which may include: + Generating or updating engineering drawings, specifications, or other related documentation + Performing checkout or verification activities on prototype or production hardware + Performing research for engineering trade studies + Identifying alternate parts due to production issues or obsolescence + Assisting with administrative tasks associated with the engineering drawing release process + Developing engineering data analysis tools (such as databases, spreadsheets, etc.) to assist with design related tasks. Electrical Engineer Interns who support Combat Vehicle Programs at BAE Systems will typically be assigned to support areas and components within Electrical Engineering such as: electrical power generation, distribution, and storage, cabling, C4ISR (Command, Control, Computer, Communications, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), vehicle displays, vehicle databusses (CANBus, Ethernet), transducers or other sensors, actuators or motors, or lighting. We try to provide each Engineering intern with an opportunity to gain some hands-on experience with a combat vehicle. Internship is for the summer of 2025 (approx. April 2025 to August 2025). This job is posted for all candidates for a full-time assignment (40 hours / week). **As an Electrical Engineering intern, it is expected that you will:** + Supporting design or provide engineering support to production for armored combat vehicles such as, Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV), Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV), Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV), M88A2/M88A3 Recovery Vehicle, M109A7/M992A3 PIM Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH), or another BAE Systems P&S Combat Vehicles program. + Complete work assignments in a thorough, consistent and punctual manner + Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior. + Adhere to company and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observation of confidentiality + Maintain professional relationships with company employees, clients and customers, both internal and external **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field + Good oral and written communication skills + Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others + Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills + Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Completed a minimum of two years of college + Interested in a career in the defense industry + Experience with EE lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, power analyzers, etc...) + Interests in working with multidisciplinary team **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $48620 - $65670 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
