Command and Control Center Engineer

BGIS is looking for a Command and Control Center Engineer to join the team in South Jordan, UT.

The Command and Control Center Engineer is responsible for supporting a critical data center. Key job activities include monitoring compliance and contractual commitments, directing technical and administrative tasks related to the operation of the critical facility infrastructure and assuring compliance with BGIS policies and procedures in a 7 day a week/24-hour environment. The Command and Control Center Engineer demonstrates BGIS values in communications with the client and other team members. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Service Activities

Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients.  Respond to client requests in a timely manner.  Answer emergency calls.  Maintain data century systems.  Monitor and control of all BMS, EPMS and life safety systems on a constant basis.  Participate in the preparation of analyses and reports on the data center infrastructure, develop project plans and conduct briefings and presentations.  Perform daily system health checks to ensure system accuracy and functionality.  Escalate abnormal incidents according to site protocol.  Act as point of contact for management, site engineers and maintenance team.  Respond to all alarm notifications/upset condition, work with site management and facilities team to resolve issues in a safe and timely manner.  Document and record all change of state actions.  Assist with training of facility engineers.  Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.

Required Education, Knowledge, and Abilities

High School Diploma equivalent. Experience with power, electrical and mechanical equipment including emergency generators, critical and essential PDUs, UPS, switchgear, air handling units, computer grade cooling systems, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, DC power systems, and building monitoring/control systems. Ability to interpret blueprints/CAD drawings.  Excellent communication to relay important information in verbal and written format building on-going positive relationship with the client and internal team members.  Team play committed to work in a quality environment. Must be willing to perform various other job related duties as requested.  Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced critical environment and pro-actively problem solve.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Physical Demands and Work Environment  

Ability and willingness to travel.  Current valid driver’s license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office with reimbursement. Requires ability to work as needed including various shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime.
