Position Summary:
This position is responsible for daily inspections, installations, and repairs of kitchen equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
Conducts daily inspections on the kitchen equipment and communicates with the Food and Beverage department for repair needsPerforms preventative maintenance and repairs of all kitchen equipment including ovens, boilers, mixers, choppers, toasters, glass washers and commercial and industrial dishwashing equipmentRepairs all commercial and industrial food service equipmentResponsible for the proper operation, repair and maintenance of the grease removal systemsSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the installation of new commercial kitchen equipmentPerforms minor fabricationsAssists with snow removal, as neededMinimum Education and Qualifications:
Five years of experience with Commercial and/or Residential Appliance repair, or an active G-2 or above (S-2, E-2 or D-2) State of Connecticut Occupational Trade LicenseExperience with the repair, maintenance and installation of all commercial kitchen cooking and food preparation equipmentExperience with gas piping systems, gas control systems, boilers and heat exchange systems (gas, steam or electric fired)Must be able to pass both a written and verbal technical proficiency test and demonstrate skills necessary to perform the job functionsPossesses knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices of the tradeMust be able to read and work from blue printsCompetencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Good written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of EPA regulations within the commercial appliance tradeExperience with pneumatic systemsExperience with maintaining, troubleshooting and calibrating of chart recording devicesTraining Requirements:
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety requirements of the tradeAble to read and comprehend electrical wiring diagrams and schematicsAbility to diagnose and trouble shoot electronic equipmentKnowledge of motor controls, electric motors and AC/DC speed controlsAbility to read, comprehend and follow factory service manualsOSHA Lockout/Tag out proceduresSpill Prevention Control and Countermeasure trainingForklift trainingConfined space trainingPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
