Tessera Aerospace Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Assembly Operator II to join our production team. This advanced-level role performs complex structural and mechanical assembly operations using hand tools, presses, and precision measuring equipment. The ideal candidate will follow detailed work instructions and blueprints to produce high-quality components while contributing to a safe, clean, and collaborative manufacturing environment.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Assemble production parts using drill press, rivet press, arbor press, manual mills, and hand toolsInstall and swage bearings; bond parts using adhesives or sealants per customer specificationsOperate honing equipment to size holes for bearing installationsFollow detailed work instructions and engineering drawings to ensure product qualitySelf-inspect work to identify and mitigate defectsPromote “clean as you go” practices and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awarenessUse mechanical measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.) to verify build accuracyMaintain dimensional tolerances using torque wrenches, fixtures, and gaugesParticipate in team activities to improve manufacturing producibilitySupport AS9100 audits and ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015/AS9100D standardsTrain and mentor assemblers and other employees as neededMaintain professionalism in appearance and conductWear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while on the production floor

Qualifications: 

High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Certificate preferred1–3 years in aerospace or commercial manufacturingAbility to read and interpret blueprints, shop routers, and visual specificationsFamiliarity with aircraft nomenclature and configuration preferredUnderstanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and product acceptance criteriaStrong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. 

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances.
