About this role

A leading global, specialist engineering firm are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Building Code Consultant to join their team. This role will support the directors and managers within the firm. As a Building Code Consultant, you will provide expert advice on commercial building codes and regulations, particularly on fire safety engineering, technical fire assessment, fire testing, to ensure compliance throughout the design and construction processes. In this role you will have a range of responsibilities and opportunities that allow you to develop professionally within the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and interpret local, state, and federal building codes and regulations. Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure adherence to codes. Assist and advise in the application of commercial building codes to the design and development of projects.  Prepare reports and fee proposals for clients Be able to offer innovative solutions to design issues not meeting codes Stay updated on changes in building codes and industry standards.

Qualifications:

Qualification in Building Surveying or similar  MUST have the equivalent of at least 4-5 years' accredited experience in commercial building code consulting or related field Have a work safety construction industry qualification (white card)  In-depth knowledge of building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations Proficient in Microsoft office (particularly Word and Excel) and Bluebeam C Class Driver's license  Results Orientated, with great communication and interpersonal skills
