Commercial Counsel, Delivery
**About the Role** We’re looking for an exceptional attorney to join the Delivery Legal team to provide commercial support for several of Uber’s biggest growth Delivery businesses, including Grocery, Retail, Convenience, and Alcohol. The role will include a special focus on Uber Direct, an efficient, seamless and scalable on-demand and white labeled delivery platform for businesses. This position can be based in New York, NY or San Francisco, CA. **What You’ll Do** - Bring commercial experience and insight to the team, finding creative solutions to white space issues while managing a heavy volume of deals. - Draft master framework, master services, promotional, and licensing agreements (including SaaS and API agreements), terms and conditions, FAQs, legal disclaimers, and other policies governing the use of Uber products and services, all with a full-view integration of risk and legal controls. - Engage and negotiate with external partners, applying economic, risk control, and legal principles in commercial agreements and outward-facing terms. - Collaborate closely with colleagues on other legal and cross-functional teams, such as Product, Policy, Intellectual Property, Insurance and Privacy to provide comprehensive advice and create solutions to close deals quickly and responsibly. - Deploy your commercial perspective in reviewing related products and programmatic initiatives to ensure commercial, regulatory, and safety considerations flow through. **Basic Qualifications** - Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in private practice, government, and/or in-house, with at least 2 years of commercial drafting experience, or minimum of 4 years legal experience, with at least 1 of those years being internal to Uber. - Experience with reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements. - J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state. **Preferred Qualifications** - Minimum of 6 years of legal experience in private practice, government, and/or in-house with at least 3 years of commercial drafting experience. - Strong team orientation, with confidence and flexibility to perform in nimble, rapidly changing, and growing environments. - Collaborative approach with both business and legal colleagues, with strong ability to build relationships, gain credibility, and partner with others. - Ability to translate complex legal issues and ambiguity into clear and simple advice, to communicate effectively with non-legal internal colleagues, and to interface with a broad range of senior business managers, executives and other colleagues and professionals across our company. - Enthusiasm about Uber and our mission! For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$208,000 per year - USD$231,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
