Commercial Credit Quality Control Analyst

Job Summary
The Commercial Credit Quality Control (QC) Team is responsible for performing quality control reviews of commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management activities, ensuring compliance with the bank's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Credit QC Analyst will play a foundational role in performing reviews as well as identify and report on credit risk issues, trends, and best practices, and provide recommendations for improvement.

Responsibilities

Conduct quality control reviews of commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management activities, such as financial analysis, risk rating, data integrity, covenant compliance, accuracy of credit write-ups and credit approval authority/exception management.Assess the adequacy and accuracy of credit analysis, documentation, and approval, including use of delegated authority, and verify the accurate identification and mitigation of critical and non-critical policy exceptions or other deviations from the bank's credit policies, procedures and guidelines, and regulatory requirements.Verify the accuracy of assigned risk ratings and any related overrides, and identify tangible triggers using credit write-ups, models, and tools.Accurately assign risk ratings and identify tangible triggers using credit write-ups, models, and tools.Ensure data integrity by verifying risk rating model inputs, financial covenant analysis, leverage calculations, and NAICS codes.Conduct accurate financial analysis, including spreads and cash flows, and assess pledged collateral including amount, quality, liquidity and last evaluation date.Review and test for soundness, accuracy, and transparency of credit write-ups.Perform testing that evaluates the borrower's current and expected financial condition (e.g., cashflows, liquidity, leverage, assets), ability to withstand adverse or stressed conditions, history of servicing debt/repayment capacity, and qualitative factors such as borrower's management, industry strength and economic conditions.Prepare and present quality control loan review results categorize defects, and escalate control gaps to Commercial Quality Control Manager for reporting and tracking through resolution of any issues or action items.Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without noticeComplies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.


Education Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience


Experience Qualifications

5+ years of banking experience, in commercial banking, commercial credit underwriting, portfolio management, quality control, operational risk or auditStrong knowledge of commercial lending products, credit analysis, risk rating, and loan documentationExcellent communication and presentation skillsRMA Credit Risk Certification (CRC), Moody’s Analytics Certificate in Commercial Credit (CICC) or Certified Credit Professional (CCP) designation or equivalent is preferred

Physical Demands

General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

If you are located near our Brooklyn, OH or Cleveland, OH locations, you may need to come in to work from the office location approximately once a week and additionally for essential in person meetings, trainings, townhalls, etc.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $70,000.00 to $95,000.00 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
