Commercial Finance Analyst
**What's the role?** We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Commercial Finance Analyst to provide strategic financial support to our Editorial leadership team within the Free News & Lifestyle publishing division. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on curiosity and brings positive energy to their work. This role involves transforming financial and non-financial data into actionable insights to drive profitable growth and cost sustainability. You will partner directly with key stakeholders from our Brand editorial teams, such as News.com.au, Taste, Body & Soul and Escape, to navigate market dynamics and inform decision-making. Additionally, you will oversee financial planning processes, including budgeting and forecasting, to ensure alignment with business objectives. **Responsibilities:** + Conduct monthly P&L reviews and partner with senior leaders to analyze weekly revenue results. + Assist in driving a high-performing finance team through development planning, continuous education, and information sharing. + Perform scenario analyses to identify and evaluate future business opportunities. + Collaborate on cost optimization initiatives, assessing their impact on the P&L. + Monitor and analyze financial results, providing insights to enhance business performance. + Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial targets are met. **Who are you?** + CA/CPA qualified (preferred, not essential) with ideally 2 years of experience in a commercial finance role or demonstrated professional accounting competency. + Naturally curious, with the ability to demonstrate commercial acumen and strong analytical skill + Capable of translating complex data and insights into simple messaging and actionable insights + Develop and manage stakeholder relationships effectively. + Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to business challenges. + Resilient and adept at managing competing deadlines in a dynamic environment. + Experience in financial planning, analysis, and cost management within a commercial setting. **News Benefits** News Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
