ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?  

The primary responsibility of the role is to proactively manage the delivery of Group Management and Statutory Reporting information in line with the agreed service level agreements.

Group Management information will include financial information required for H1 and FY targets. This will include co-ordination of assumption and other data inputs, running the preparation and generation of financial information and quality review prior to releasing to the customer for approval.

The objective of this role is to enable the COMFOM Commerical Finance Executive to support business objectives by providing quality financial reporting information and analysis support for end markets.

Part of GBS R2R Team, responsible for Marketing Finance Activities for UK&I Markets, reporting line to GBS CFOM Lead, dotted line to Head of Finance UK&I.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manage and co-ordinates activities for UK&I (UK and Ireland):

Actuals MI management / Actual vs Budget reportingPrepares monthly /periodic actuals reports for MI (Mi Tracker), with high-level analysis of the variations and discuss/ explain any significant variance with BH’s and Marketing Finance teamPrepare reallocation/reclassification journals, if the case, after discussing with BH’sBased on actuals discussion with BH, calculate and post monthly accruals (including evidence from BH’s)Proactively monitors and track costs and highlights any variance from plan, both actual and forecast, informing the Marketing Finance team and the BH’s.Prepare first level commentary, dashboards & variance analysis, including analysis of MI commitments.Provides the business with finance reporting information (TCI & CD analyses etc.) on a timely basis/ad hoc request.Support the Corporate finance for yearly external audit.

Budgeting MIMonthly / by request collates and analyses detailed breakdown of cost and provides input to budget holder for their internal review CY +1 (submit and consolidate the BH’s input templates).After Mi changes approval, as per Marketing Finance instructions, operate all the changes in BPC at WBS/CC level.Distribute standardised reporting packs to BH’s for discussion with Marketing Finance.

Reporting MI In charge with all Mi reporting in BPC, including BPC bi-annually RTM cost split updates.Provide any ad-hoc reports requested by Marketing Finance team.Support the Marketing Finance team on the ad-hoc request for MD reporting from area, including all the submission from EM to area for Power BI area tool.

Cost accounting and MD for MI Manage & understand all cost allocations, cost accounting & queries (e.g. adjustments, accruals, provisioning)Join Budget holders in understanding and applying the results in a favourable mannerRaise eFlow requests for journals/master data changes and own process subsequently to reflect updates.

IFRS15 - In charge with full monthly full cycle of IFRS15 process

Regular engagement with:

UK&I local EM functions, such as SPI, Supply Chain, Commercial Finance etcUK&I FD, Finance team (Local Corporate Finance, CFOM P&R), GBS P&R, GBS Relationship Manager, GBS Service Lines (GL, IGT, O2C, P2P, MD)

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics and strong understanding of the accounting process and practice in BAT / GBSFull Financial Statements understandingGood Business/ Commercial understanding and curiosityWorking well independentlyVery good stakeholders’ engagement skillsProactivity, initiative-taker, solution orientedGood technical skills and solid knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically SAP, or ERP equivalent, BPC/BI.Knowledgeable in identifying risks and in implementing controls with a continuous improvement mindset.Resilience and quick adaptability to changing environment.
