Job Purpose

The Commercial Manager will be a key player in the Finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Growth for the France Market. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the business in making strategic commercial decisions supported by data analysis, forecasting and market trend evaluation. This individual will be responsible for analysing sales performance, supporting ad hoc commercial & strategic initiatives and play a crucial role in driving franchisee growth and franchisee profitability across the French Market. 

The Commercial Manager contributes to shaping the financial strategy, acting as a commercial thought partner to cross-functional teams, and driving the commercial success of the business. The successful candidate will need to have a strong sense of accountability, urgency and ownership, maintaining a continuous growth mindset. The ideal candidate must be bilingual in French and English, with a strong commercial & analytical background and the ability to travel to London as needed. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Responsibility

Collaborate with the Head of Growth to design and execute commercial strategies that drive revenue and market share growth. Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive activities to inform strategic decisions and identify new business opportunities. Contribute to the development of long-term business plans, setting clear objectives and performance metrics for franchisee growth and profitability. Identify and recommend innovative approaches to enhance the commercial performance of franchisee unit economics. Develop detailed reports and presentations that provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making, with regular reporting to the Pizza Hut UK & Ireland and Pizza Hut International Operating Markets Executive Teams

Revenue & New Unit Growth Strategy

Conduct in-depth sales analysis to monitor trends, identify opportunities, and evaluate performance metrics on an ongoing basis as well as campaign reviews for Limited Time Offers or pulse promotions in-market. Prepare comprehensive sales reports highlighting key findings, strategic opportunities, and potential risks. Collaborate with the sales and digital team to develop strategies for market penetration and growth. Partner closely with the cross-functional teams to support the Development growth strategy, analyzing performing of new units and asset types to accelerate growth within France

Financial Analysis and Reporting

Track and analyze financial performance metrics, including sales, profitability, and operational efficiency of franchisees. Prepare detailed sales & financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations. Assist franchisees with budget planning and financial forecasting to ensure alignment with overall business goals. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within franchisee operations to enhance financial performance.

Franchise Profitability

Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with franchisees, serving as their primary point of contact for commercial matters. Facilitate the flow of information between franchisees and internal teams, ensuring all parties are informed and engaged. Collaborate with franchisees to analyze financial performance and identify improvement areas. Provide actionable recommendations to enhance franchisee profitability and operational efficiency. Develop tools and frameworks to support franchisees in optimizing their business operations. Play a key role in the use of iLumen as a platform to draw actionable insights in driving Franchisee profitability  Support Franchisee Finance committee and other franchise forums, providing data & analysis to support business reviews and other relevant topics

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Development, Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure alignment of commercial strategies and operational execution. Lead and participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving franchise performance and growth across the France Market. Collaborate with various departments to address and resolve complex issues impacting franchisee commercial and business outcomes. Partner with International Operating Markets Financial Planning team to provides sales and commercial analysis to support quarterly, annual and strategic planning processes 

Requirements

Fluent in French and English (both written and spoken) is essential. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights. You will have strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills to translate complex data into actionable insights for the wider business. Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with franchisees and collaborative with cross-functional teams.  Strong relationship building skills, you will be able to challenge the norm and provide alternative solutions and creative solutions to problems. You will need to build trust quickly so that you can work with credibility and at pace. Proven adaptability to a fast-moving environment and high sense of urgency and accountability, you will need to manage multiple complex data sets and reporting deadlines simultaneously. Proven analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, accuracy and an eye toward continuous process improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial planning, forecasting, and data analysis ideally within the food and beverage or retail sectors. Ideally a level of higher education or diploma in a Finance and/or Commerce/Business-related field. Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of business operations and unit economics. Proven Franchise experience either in a Finance function or another relevant role is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Work Environment

This role is based out of our Restaurant Support Centre in Paris, a minimum of 2 days per week in the RSC located in La Defense, Paris, is required. As Pizza Hut is a franchise business, you may be required to attend franchisee offices, and other locations from time to time.
