WFLA-TV, News Channel 8, in beautiful Tampa, FL is seeking candidates for a full-time Commercial Helicopter Pilot to join our team. Ideal candidate will have type certification in a Bell 206L-3 helicopter as well as experience with news operations and daily preventative maintenance. Required Skills / Abilities / Responsibilities: + Current FAA Commercial Pilot's License + Current FAA 2nd Class Medical + 1,500 hrs. helicopter minimum total time + 500+ hrs. minimum turbine time + 5 years+ flying experience as PIC + 3 years+ commercial, military or government helicopter experience as PIC + Local area experience preferred + Performing pre and post flight inspections of airframe, fuel, equipment and navigational systems to determine flight worthiness of aircraft; ensuring the safety and legality of flight operations. + Maintain aircraft flight records + VFR operations in Day and Night conditions + Monitoring weather conditions and communicating with air traffic control and other air traffic during flights in and around Class B airspace. + Must be able to exercise good judgment in a team environment as well as in aircraft operation and safety. + Must be willing to work in a changing news environment while in flight and on the ground. + High School Diploma or GED required + Other duties as may be assigned Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
