Commercial HVAC Service Supervisor
Description

Position PurposeAs a Service Supervisor at LONG, you will lead and support a team of HVAC Service Technicians, ensuring the successful installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems within your designated area. Your role will involve supervising daily operations, providing hands-on training to new hires, and delivering ongoing training to current technicians. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:Oversee the daily activities of technicians, including task assignment, progress monitoring, and ensuring quality and timely completion of tasks.Provide guidance and support for complex troubleshooting, system diagnostics, installations, and technical issues.Supervise, mentor, and manage technicians, including hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions. Train and set ongoing training goals and objectives for HVAC Service Technicians while supervising progress.Manage budgets, schedules and resources efficiently.Provide support and be a back-up to the Service Manager as needed.Recommend procurement and ensure care of all required service tools, inventory and vehicles.Ensure the quality of service delivered by HVAC Service Technicians adheres to department procedures and standards.Address escalated customer complaints with a strong focus on delivering exceptional service and ensuring customer satisfaction, prioritizing swift and effective resolution.Continue to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of higher-level service calls as needed.Create, train for, and maintain a culture of excellent customer service among technicians.Maintain positive working relationships with customers, technicians, dispatch, sales, and management.Promptly and accurately complete all required paperwork while on the job.Work to ensure that LONG is fairly compensated for all work including that performed outside contractual obligations.Provide documentation as needed for scheduling, personnel, billing, and job site issues.Perform timely and accurate timecard reporting.Enforce safety procedures, conduct safety inspections, and promote a culture of safety within the team.Ability to work after-hours when needed.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications2-year HVAC technical degree and 6 years HVAC service experience and proven experience that demonstrates leadership qualities or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge of dispatch, job cost, HVAC mechanical and electrical systems, controls, technical service procedures, and safety practices.Exceptionally advanced understanding of commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, or electrical systems with a comprehensive knowledge of VRV and VRF commercial HVAC systems.Valid CFC Refrigeration certificateMaintain company trade licenses and skills applicable to HVAC, chiller, boiler, and controls service.This role necessitates safely and legally operating a company vehicle to travel to job sites and visit customer locations for inspections.Advanced oral, written, interpersonal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation and organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel) and able to learn additional computer software quickly.Capability to work in confined or tight spaces such as mechanical rooms for installation and repair tasks.Preferred QualificationsNo candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
