Commercial Insurance Broker

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Commercial Broking team at Marsh New Zealand. This role will be based in Christchurch, NZ office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

This role will be for a motivated candidate to interact with a variety of SME businesses within the Canterbury region of New Zealand. The candidate is required to be an organised self-starter to proactively manage the interactions with their clients and to also work as a part of a wider Marsh team.

It is important to show a desire to learn and understand our clients and their business and to assess their needs through researching their key risks, both existing and emerging risks including industry issues they face.

We will count on you to:

Support Senior and Principal Account Broker's with portfolio management.Establishing, development and maintenance of long-term relationships with key decision makersAbility to Acquire and understand an awareness of the client’s business and insurance needs Identifying products which benefit the client and meet their needsTimely and accurate processing of invoices, policy accounting information, quotations, premium calculations, policy wording, certificates of currency and all other documentations.Liaising and negotiating with clients, underwriters and claims managers.Develop and maintain a basic technical understanding of relevant classes of insurance and specialist services which the company offers to its clients.

What you need to have:

General or financial/personal lines insurance broking experience (preferred).Level 5 Insurance Broking qualification or higher (preferred).Clear and effective communication skills.Ability to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team.Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
