Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Commercial Litigation Paralegal in Chicago, Illinois. As a Commercial Litigation Paralegal, you will be working on various tasks ranging from trial preparation to document management. This role requires a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills to handle multiple active cases efficiently. Responsibilities • Work closely with all attorneys, focusing on 1-2 cases at a time, to ensure a thorough understanding of the case, file location, and other related details. • Assist in the preparation for arbitrations and trials, including creating witness folders and other necessary documents. • Handle court filings at both state and federal levels, ensuring all legal documents are accurately and promptly filed. • Utilize OneDrive for efficient document management and Logical for handling larger productions. • Contribute to case organization by offering suggestions, setting up initial files, and ensuring all files are placed in the correct locations. • Carry out administrative tasks as needed, including but not limited to, maintaining accurate client records, processing client applications, and resolving client inquiries. • Monitor client accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. • Leverage your skills in Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, CompuLaw, and other case management software to enhance efficiency and accuracy. • Communicate effectively with the team and clients, ensuring smooth operations and client satisfaction. Requirements • Applicant must hold a minimum of three years of experience in a Commercial Litigation Paralegal role. • Proficiency in Aderant is required. • Adobe Acrobat skills are essential. • Familiarity with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) is a must. • Experience with Case Management Software is necessary. • CompuLaw expertise is crucial. • The ability to perform Billing Functions is required. • Briefing skills are essential. • Capability in Calendar Management is necessary. • Experience in Claim Administration is desired. • Excellent Communication skills are required. • Expertise in Commercial Litigation is a must. • Experience in Complex Commercial Litigation is necessary. • Proficiency in e-Filing is required. • Filing skills are essential. • Experience with Court Filing is desired. • Familiarity with Court Filings is a must. • Ability to perform Litigation Filing is necessary. • Proficiency in Trial Preparation is required. • Expertise in Trial Prep, including Vis Aids, Models, and Mockups, is crucial.
