ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for providing support to Commercial Loan Officers and other Management Personnel who have Business Loan Portfolios assigned. Responsibilities also include assistance to the Commercial Loan Processing Senior Manager as required.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Monitor the future maturity of lines of credit and term loans to ensure proper renewals are completed prior to maturity dates; Maintain accurate reporting of commercial loan pipeline for senior management; Work with loan officers to collect necessary information; Assist lenders in general portfolio and problem loan management, as well as specific loan maintenance and collection activities, focusing on the primary areas of loan quality, yield, growth and client services; Support the Sales Process by recognition of referral opportunities for the bank sales force; Assist lenders with the loan origination process, specifically including production of legal and supporting loan documentation through input to internal systems, and written and/or verbal communication third parties, such as attorneys, insurance agents, appraisers, surveyors, etc.; Following the credit approval and commitment stage, assist lenders with coordinating, attending and processing Business Loan closings, including completion of loan closings on the bank’s loan system and accurate disbursement of loan proceeds; Service client needs/requests as related to business loan and deposit services; Work with treasury team to provide necessary information to assist with the referral and cross selling of deposit services to credit clients; Refer relationship to other partners such as mortgage and insurance; Assure documentation quality via follow-up and clearing of exceptions; Assist with the credit renewal process, including monitoring future maturity and line expiration reports, and proactively preparing documentation for lender/client execution; Assist with the credit review process by maintaining updated credit files, including timely filing of credit-related documentation, follow-up on financial statements and initiation of Loan Review Committee packages; Prepare Reports requested by Bank Management (USDA/SBA Reporting, minutes, withdrawn/denied files); Specifically assist by bringing to the appropriate individual’s attention any potential client needs recognized through client contact or cursory review of available financial information; Prepare credit-related documents (loan presentations, credit files, correspondence, memos, reports, etc.) in a clear, accurate manner using the most efficient software application or method made available; Ensure a high quality of customer service; Assist customers throughout the loan process and with any servicing issues; Ensure training of new hires in market area; Respond to day-to-day correspondence with market area processors, and others as required, to ensure high quality loan production, along with procedure proficiency; Work in unison with Commercial Loan Processing Senior Manager to assure best practices within the processing team; Complete processor reviews as may be required by the Commercial Loan Processing Senior Manager;EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
Undergraduate degree preferred Minimum 5+ years of experience as a loan assistant or related field Working knowledge of bank lending policies and procedures Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software tool, specifically Excel and Word Excellent attention to detail and dependability Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities Strong communication, data analysis and presentation skillsBENEFITS AT MVB
