We are partnered with a leading engineering & construction contractor with a reputation for delivering world-class projects across a diverse range of industries dedicated to ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability. Due to continued growth, we are now looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee the overall financial management and commercial performance of complex projects, ensuring profitability through effective cost management. This offer is available under the terms of a Belgian/UK contract, EU/Belgium resident permit holders are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Develop, manage, and control project budgets, ensuring that financial targets are met and prepare accurate and complete financial reports, highlighting any issues and recommending effective solutions where necessary.
Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports ensuring accurate and timely billing, invoicing, and collection of payments.
Lead the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation of terms, and contract award ensuring that all goods and services are procured at the best value while maintaining quality and schedule requirements.
Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for clients and stakeholders maintaining strong relationships, ensuring client satisfaction, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide accurate financial forecasting, cash flow projections, and reporting to senior management.
Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, contract managers, and cost controllers, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Ensure that all commercial activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
Oversee the financial closeout of projects, ensuring that all final accounts, invoices, and payments are settled.
Degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
10+ years of experience in a commercial role within construction/engineering.
Strong knowledge of contract law, construction contracts and commercial risk management.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial data, identify risks, and make informed decisions to maximise profitability.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships, negotiate contracts, and resolve disputes effectively.
