Summary of Role

This is a hybrid role and supports Raytheon locations in both Harlow and Glenrothes

This highly valued and key role is required to support a functional team within the UK Raytheon business. As a contracts and commercial specialist and leader you are expected to lead a team or work as sole expert for a significant programme. You will be a business enabler, supporting through leadership both the winning and subsequent delivery of a profitable business.  Making our company one that our customers see as easy to contract with and work with through the delivery of their programmes.  You will provide contractual and commercial governance to your team, ensuring all other areas of the business are fully supported in your contracting area, support multiple contracts and provide flexibility as the business requires.

Main Duties

Responsible for all commercial elements of the programme including customer relationshipLead a team of Commercial professionals to deliver value to the business and be an enabling function to the programme successProduction of business case briefings and financial reporting for senior reviewsReview and approve contracts, gates, financial changes etc within delegationProvide full support and leadership to contract/agreement negotiationsProvide team support to development, approval and issuance of bids and proposals, whether in response to RFP/ITN etc or as part of the company strategyProvide guidance on establishing commercial risk and effective mitigationEnsure processes are followed effectivelyResolve all commercial issues promptly and effectively as point of escalationBe the champion of change and improvementDevelops and delivers innovative commercial solutions in support of proposals and customer requirements, together with administration of complex due diligence activity.Negotiates a range of contractual agreements and manages non routine issues through senior functional management, referring to counsel when necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

Relevant degree or equivalent experience.Excellent commercial awareness, business principles and governing lawExperience in all aspects of international, commercial and defence contractingExcellent record of problem solving with an ability to drive performance through othersExcellent communicator and relationship builder at all levels with both internal and external customersPositive, self-motivated and the ability to work both independently and lead a team.A willingness and ability to travel occasionally.

Desirable:

Accreditation in Commercial and Supply Chain managementEligible to obtain security clearance (SC) beyond baseline personnel security standard (BPSS)Strong programme management skill set – Risk Management/Programme Gating/ MetricsExperience of multi-functional leadership, including coaching and mentoringExperience of working with international suppliers or customers
