This is a full time, exempt position
**FUNCTION:** Reporting to the Iowa Commercial Manager of Oilseeds and Carb Solutions, the position is accountable for helping develop and implement strategic and annual business plans for the location. As a senior member of the merchandising team, this position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with multiple internal and key external accounts including the handling of trading, logistics, accounting, and other customer related issues. The position requires a high level of strategic thinking, market knowledge and employee development. The position will also assist in overseeing the location risk management in accordance with corporate policy. The position will aid in developing strategies that match with our corporate objectives and executing these strategies utilizing corporate and staff resources as deemed necessary. The position may represent the company on various industry related initiatives as required.

**DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:**
+ Manages all aspects of grain origination for our Iowa corn processing assets, with the goal of maximizing Archer Daniels Midland’s profitability within a dynamic operating environment
+ Interacts with key customer accounts and maintains ongoing and regular communications with customers to enhance relationships and customer service
+ Understands customer requirements in order to collaborate and add value to both companies
+ In conjunction with the Iowa Commercial Manager, will direct the developmental activities related to the location
+ Maintains ongoing and regular communications with the production managers, merchandising, clerical and production staff to ensure market direction and the growth and maintenance of strong business relationships.
+ Strategically seeks out new business that would profitably enhance company assets
+ Identifies and analyzes potential key supplier and market opportunities within domestic markets for raw materials and directs the strategies such that we profitably penetrate these markets
+ Works closely with various internal groups to ensure the most cost effective means for coordinating ADM’s operations
+ Develops key communication links within ADM to ensure optimal use of Archer Daniels Midland facilities and market access, an understanding and awareness of market requirements, build relationships and facilitate the effectiveness of integrated NA processing operations
+ Maintains an up to date knowledge of market trends and competitor activities, revising marketing strategies and programs to capitalize on identified opportunities
+ Represents the corn processing group on various external meetings, committees and associations in developing and influencing the processing industry and promoting ADM interests
+ Understands the value of ADM owned transportation (i.e. trucks and railcars) and how to enhance value while ensuring the location uses the most cost efficient transportation and logistics
**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:**
+ University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting) supplemented with a minimum of seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in the marketing of commodities and related food, feed and/or fuel products in North America.
+ Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
+ A master’s degree is considered to be an asset. Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment.
+ Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
+ Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic grain trade.
+ Proven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment.
+ Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.
+ Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
