You are someone who:
Full contract lifecycle management: Works collaboratively with Procurement Manager to assist in the development and monitoring the procurement scheduling and plans, provide guidance in the competitive tendering process of goods and services, lead the development of terms and conditions for the package, assist technical teams in the development of scope of work, and specification requirements. Leads the drafting, review, and negotiation of various subcontracts, including service contracts, master services agreements, commissioning contracts, engineering contracts, settlement agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and procurement contracts. Manages and administers assigned post-award contracts (project agreement, subcontracts, consultancy agreements, MSA, purchase agreements, etc.), ensuring all flow down requirements are conveyed, all bonding, insurances, warranty/contractual deliverables are met on time and within cost. Manages commercial and contract changes, including schedule interpretation and claims administration/coordination. Issues regular reporting and analytics on commercial issues to Sr. Commercial Management and Project Managers. Engages with the project's insurance advisors to develop appropriate project insurance programs and coverages. Assists in the development of risks mitigation plans and administer progress of commercial items, as applicable. Oversees the commercial management of project closeout/post-practical completion, including the defect liability period and O&M. Commercial support to all aspects of the construction and project execution. Construction site visits, as required.You bring:
7-10 years’ experience working for a Contractor on large construction projects. Minimum of 5 years commercial and or contract management experience on major projects. Legal or Construction Contract Management Professional designation or Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent preferred. Demonstrated experience working under a variety of contracts (Design-Build, Lump Sum, T&M, Target Price etc). Thorough knowledge of change management including identifying variations, claims identification, mitigation, narration, quantification, evaluation and dispute resolution. A sound understanding of Canadian contract law and the Construction Lien Act, combined with a thorough understanding of contractual obligations and liabilities, commercial and financial functions (i.e. project cash flow) and risk mitigation. Direct experience with the tendering process, contract administration, budgetary cost value and reduction capability, procurement and subcontract administration. Experience in liaising with client, subcontractor and consultant representatives. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, relationship management and leadership skills. Proficiency on MS Office suite. Self-motivation with a ‘can-do’ spirit. Ability to work accurately under pressure. Adaptability to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines. Ability to cooperate and work collaboratively with others as a team.
