Commercial Manager

The UGL Utilities team designs, constructs and maintains critical infrastructure across the water and power sectors. Ranging from wastewater treatment plants to power stations. We design and construct the following assets; power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, water and waste water treatment plans and water pipelines.

The Opportunity

UGL Utilities team are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to be based in our Perth office.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manager, you will be accountable for developing and delivering on commercial strategies, financial and commercial management, contract reviews and formation, and provide authoritative advice to senior management to ensure financial success of the project. 

Some key responsibilities of this role will include:

· Evaluating head contract legal and commercial risks

· Providing commercial support to project managers and contract administrators

· Reviewing and reporting on the commercial positions of the project

· Full management and delivery of all project related cost control activities including earned value analysis, forecasting and monthly reporting 

· Provide direction and support to project team for the management and negotiation of claims and disputes with subcontractors and Clients

About you

· Previous experience in commercial and contractual management of lump sum major projects in an engineering and construction environment

· Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Commerce, or Law or proven commercial experience equivalent

· An ability to handle tight deadlines and pressure professionally

· Attention to detail and a solution-oriented attitude.

· Strong leadership, people management and communication skills to manage and mentor commercial and project team resources and key management and stakeholder engagement.
