GCR operates 9 Stores, 2 Bandag Retread Plants, and 5 Off-The-Road Tire Repair Facilities in 5 states, along with managing tire programs at several remote mine locations. In short, GCR operates anywhere mining equipment is operated.

Position Summary

The Commercial Material Handler is responsible for efficiently managing the movement and storage of materials and products within the warehouse. This role involves utilizing both manual labor and low-complexity machinery/equipment, such as forklifts and conveyors, to ensure the smooth flow of materials in accordance with established guidelines and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Material Handling: Efficiently move, store, and organize materials and products, ensuring adherence to organizational guidelines and inventory control practices.

Inventory Management: Accurately log and track the movement of incoming and outgoing materials and products using appropriate documentation and inventory management systems.

Equipment Operation: Operate low-complexity motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, and pallet jacks, with a strong emphasis on safety and operational efficiency.

Quality Control: Inspect materials and products for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor to maintain high-quality standards.

Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment and prevent accidents or damage to equipment and materials.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or need for repairs to ensure optimal performance.

Work Environment: This position requires working in a warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.

Additional Duties: Execute other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or management to support overall operational efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in material handling or warehouse operations is preferred but not required.

Proficiency in operating low-complexity material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in inventory logging and material handling.

Certifications: Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification is preferred.

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be 18 years or older

Willingness to undergo a federal background check, drug screen and physical.

Valid Driver's license

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials weighing up to 250 pounds with or without assistance.

Must be able to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
