We are seeking an experienced Commercial Middle Market Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our underwriting team. The ideal candidate will have at least  3 plus  years of experience in underwriting property and casualty insurance for commercial clients. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing risk, determining policy terms and conditions, and pricing policies appropriately.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and assess risk exposures of commercial middle market clients. Analyze underwriting data and use appropriate pricing models to determine policy terms and conditions. Review insurance applications and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for risk assessment. Conduct insurance policy reviews and make recommendations for coverage enhancements or changes. Utilize underwriting guidelines and company policies to make decisions on coverage and pricing. Maintain a profitable book of business by effectively managing policy renewals and new business submissions. Communicate underwriting decisions, policy terms, and conditions to brokers, agents, and insureds. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact underwriting decisions. Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and assist in their professional development. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as insurance, risk management, or finance.Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting.Excellent knowledge of underwriting principles, policies, and procedures.Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks.Solid understanding of insurance policies, coverage options, and exclusions.Proficient in using underwriting software, rating systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.CIC, CPCU, or other relevant insurance certifications preferred.

The pay range for the role is $71,500 to $115,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.  Chubb offers a comprehensive benefits package, more details on which can be found on our careers website. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
