The Commercial Operations Manager will play a key role in driving the operational and financial success of the Department by supporting financial metrics, forecasting projects, and evaluating the need for subcontractor engagement. The manager will work closely with Director of Operations including Professional Solution finance, Program Mangers, and Project Management, to ensure accurate forecasting, cost-effective subcontractor utilization, and data-driven decision-making to optimize commercial operations. Assist in preparing budgets for various commercial projects and track financial performance by conducting variance analysis between actual and forecasted figures. Provides reporting and analytics to measure KPIs as required. Prepare monthly schedule of values for each project that requires that for system invoicing. Conduct detailed cost analysis for projects and departments, identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement in operational efficiency. Assist in reviewing subcontractor agreements and ensure that pricing, timelines, and deliverables align with the organization’s financial and operational goals. Assist CoolSys legal team in getting contracts reviewed and corrected by clients. Assist in locating and vetting new subcontractors by send vendor set-up packet, establishing communication path with sub vendor, and ensuring that information is sent to field support center. Reviewing change order costs and sale before sending to customer. Develop and track KPIs related to commercial operations PMD , including project profitability, subcontractor costs, and financial performance metrics. Propose enhancements to existing tools to better support forecasting and subcontractor evaluation. Partner with Program Managers and project management teams to ensure that forecasts and subcontractor evaluations are grounded in operational realities and project needs. Identify and evaluate financial and operational risks related to subcontractor use, and work with legal and procurement teams to mitigate these risks. Supervise coordinators as role and scope expand. Qualifications JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/ Training: Bachelor’s or other degree, particularly with an emphasis on Accounting. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Work Experience/ Skills: 5-6 years of experience in the construction business or adjacent field. Strong understanding of accounting, analysis, and forecasting. Excellent analytical abilities with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to both technical and non-technical audiences. High attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness in reports and forecasts. Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
