Primary objective of the job:
The Commercial performance manager is responsible for consolidating and monitoring commercial plans across markets and channels within the Consumer business. This role involves overseeing the integration of market plans, tracking the execution of commercial strategies, and analyzing the financial performance to ensure alignment with the business’s objectives. The position plays a key role in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), assessing the return on investment (ROI) for commercial initiatives, and driving continuous improvement based on performance data. The Commercial performance manager works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that financial and commercial goals are met, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Financial Management:
• Channel Strategy Development: Define and implement the overarching channel strategy for Mobile and Digicel+, ensuring strong alignment with overall business goals and ambitious revenue targets
• Revenue Optimization Initiatives: Spearhead initiatives aimed at maximizing revenue growth through effective channel execution and the adoption of best practices
• Market Support Leadership: Provide high-level guidance and support to market teams in executing the channel strategy and achieving critical performance goals
• Market Penetration and Productivity Enhancement: Drive efforts to increase market penetration and channel effectiveness by identifying and implementing strategies that boost reach and resource allocation efficiency
• Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of channel performance metrics, pinpoint areas for improvement, and implement strategic initiatives to significantly enhance productivity and profitability
• Commission Structure Management: Oversee the strategic optimization of commission structures to incentivize high performance and ensure alignment with overarching business objectives
Execution and Performance Monitoring:
• KPI Monitoring and Reporting: Track the performance of commercial initiatives against defined KPIs, including revenue, profitability, and cost metrics. Provide regular reports on progress and outcomes to senior leadership
• Performance Analysis: Evaluate the effectiveness of ongoing commercial strategies, providing data-driven recommendations for adjustments based on performance results
• ROI Assessment: Assess the ROI of various commercial initiatives and investments, ensuring that the company’s resources are being allocated effectively and driving the desired outcomes
Academic Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced financial certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is highly preferred
• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial planning, financial analysis, or related roles, ideally within a high-growth or massive consumer environment such as telecommunications, technology, or retail
Functional Skills:
• Financial Expertise: Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. Experience in tracking ROI, managing Opex, and conducting cost-benefit analysis
• Commercial Acumen: Proven experience in managing and consolidating commercial plans across multiple markets and channels, with a focus on performance monitoring and financial optimization
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience using financial modeling and data analysis tools to inform business decisions
• Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial and strategic information clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional teams
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in financial management tools, business intelligence software, and MS Excel (advanced)
