We are looking for a Commercial Roofing Inspector to join our team, focusing primarily on large-scale commercial projects, with occasional support for our service department as needed.

Our projects range in scope from large scale new construction, industrial, hospitality, distribution centers, retail centers, office buildings, multifamily and green roofs to roof replacements and maintenance of existing buildings.

 Summary: The Commercial Roofing Inspector is responsible for conducting on-site roof inspections, preparing detailed inspection reports, performing roof takeoffs, and developing proposals for identified work. While prior roofing experience is advantageous, we are willing to provide training for candidates with strong computer skills, construction knowledge, and the ability to climb ladders and stairs to access commercial roofs.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct on-site visits and field measurements of existing roof systems.Inspect commercial roofs for issues such as leaks, unusual wear and tear, windblown debris damage, organic growth, and material or installation defects.Perform comprehensive roof takeoffs, including photographing the site, identifying safety hazards and mobilization areas, conducting roof core cuts, taking accurate measurements, and inventorying rooftop equipment.Document inspection results and provide information to estimating team and service department to prepare thorough reports and repair proposals.Communicate effectively with customers, building tenants, field technicians, estimators, and the management team.Utilize CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, ADP) to access and manage project information and customer data.Adhere to Nations Roof safety policies and procedures.Keep project management and development tracking tools updated.Work effectively within a team and build productive relationships with colleagues.Accurately record work hours and maintain construction documents.Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English.Intermediate computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Willingness to learn and use company-specific software.Ability to learn to read blueprints, shop drawings, and roofing specifications.Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA requirements.Familiarity with various roofing systems such as EPDM, TPO, PVC, Modified Systems, Metal, Hot Melt Waterproofing, Liquid Membrane, and Built-Up, is preferred.Capability to learn and understand manufacturer warranties and installation requirements.Physical ability to climb ladders, navigate stairs, and lift objects as needed.

 Education and Experience:

Minimum age of 18 years. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.Prior experience in commercial roofing or related fields is preferred but not required.Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including EPDM, TPO, PVC, SBS, BUR, liquid-applied, asphalt shingles, and metal roofs, is highly desirable.Valid Driver’s License with no restrictions.OSHA 10 certification. Nations Roof will provide training and certifications, where applicableEnglish written and verbal proficiency may be required.Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
