Commercial Sales Representative

**Job Purpose** **:**
The Commercial Sales Representative is essential to driving activity in the Business Sales channel. The position is responsible for outbound call activity, face-to-face meetings, new business prospecting, and all other proactive sales efforts that will drive fiber penetration and grow existing customer spend through attaching additional products in the portfolio and upgrading connections. The ability to provide excellent customer service as well as upsell new products to previously sold customers is key to this role. The successful Commercial Sales Representative will develop and utilize sales plans and strategies to drive fiber penetration, grow revenue, and provide an excellent customer experience.
**Essential Functions** **:**
+ Understand altafiber's strategic direction and sales processes. Strategize customer lists and fiber footprint to create a plan of attack for new and existing customers. Uncover new customer opportunities as well as upsell previously sold customers. Effectively communicate proposed solutions via phone, face-to-face meetings, or email. Strong emphasis on working in a team environment and driving a positive culture. Measured on new venue acquisition results, new opportunities created, and sales activities such as number of meetings per week. Maintain a sales funnel and provide regular updates to the Sales Manager. Broad understanding of business's IT needs and how altafiber's solutions solve these needs. Demonstrate business acumen. Working with Solutions Engineers to design solutions that meet client's needs. Navigating sales cycles from prospecting to close.
**Education** **:**
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Preferred MBA
**Relevant Work Experience** **:**
Four-year business degree or equivalent experience required Salesperson from a competitive environment desired Prior training/experience in data, voice, video, and/or image communications, selling skills, and proposal generation required
