Purpose of Role: The Commercial specialist is responsible for aiding Sales, Business Development, and other business sectors in advising commercial and legal matters and safeguarding the business from potential risks. This role also involves aiding Weir and supporting the Commercial team to uphold governance and adhering to export control regulations, local laws, and screening of customers, suppliers, and business partners.

The primary responsibilities involve supporting the Commercial team and broader business by reviewing contracts, NDAs, local lease agreements, sales and purchasing agreements, and ensuring that commercial risks are effectively managed in alignment with the Weir Group Commercial Manual. Additionally, it involves ensuring that the business adheres to due process and procedures to maintain compliance with local legislation and export control requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Support & Risk Management: Provide commercial guidance across the business, supporting issue resolution, customer negotiations, and bid approvals. Ensure the company is protected from unnecessary commercial risks and exposures.

Contract & Agreement Management: Draft, review, and support negotiations for a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., Sales, Service, Lease, Marketing, NDA, Distributor, and Agency). Maintain and update standard terms and contract templates in line with local legislation.

Compliance & Order Processing: Oversee the commercial order entry approval process in Salesforce, ensuring contract terms are acceptable and purchase orders are compliant. Support compliance activities by gathering data, completing due diligence, and coordinating with Legal and Compliance teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with Sales Teams, Territory Managers, Legal, and Compliance to ensure accurate information flow. Contribute to tender approval packs and support new business development through effective stakeholder engagement.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Law degree preferred, with strong understanding of local legislation including Contract Law, Civil Law, and Subsoil User Legislation.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial function, with preferred technical appreciation of Weir products and processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SAP and Salesforce.

Fluent in Russian and English, with strong communication and influencing skills to effectively collaborate across teams.

Highly organized, efficient, and effective in planning and monitoring work to meet commercial and compliance objectives.

Must be permanently authorised to work in the country to which you are applying, without sponsorship.
