Purpose of Role:

The Commercial specialist is responsible for aiding Sales, Business Development, and other business sectors in advising commercial and legal matters and safeguarding the business from potential risks. This role also involves aiding Weir and supporting the Commercial team to uphold governance and adhering to export control regulations, local laws, and screening of customers, suppliers, and business partners.

The primary responsibilities involve supporting the Commercial team and broader business by reviewing contracts, NDAs, local lease agreements, sales and purchasing agreements, and ensuring that commercial risks are effectively managed in alignment with the Weir Group Commercial Manual. Additionally, it involves ensuring that the business adheres to due process and procedures to maintain compliance with local legislation and export control requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist & Support the wider business to deal with Commercial Issues and to protect the company from any unnecessary exposure to risk.

General - Provide Commercial support to other functions within the business

Agreements – Prepare draft agreements and support negotiations for a wide range of commercial agreements (Sales Contracts, Service Agreements, lease agreements, marketing agreements, NDA’s, Distributor and Agency Agreements) to support new business development activities.

Standard Terms – Update standard conditions and contract templates to based on local guidance to ensure they maintain relevance with any changes within the local legislation.

Risk - Ensure that the company is protected from any unnecessary commercial risks

Negotiations – Support the Commercial team and wider business during customer negotiations

Order Entry – Process the commercial order entry approval process within Sales Force as part of the End to End Process ensuring that any contract terms and conditions are acceptable.  Review and check the compliance of incoming Purchase Orders and provide feedback to sales

Compliance - Support the administration side of the compliance activities in gathering relevant data from the sales teams and complete the necessary due diligence requirements and forms to support assessment by the Senior Commercial and Compliance Specialist and Weir Group Legal and the compliance teams.

Organisation Engagement - Liaise with the Sale teams, Territory Managers, Weir Group Legal, Weir Group Compliance to ensure relevant information is provided to support and protect the company

Bid Approval - Prepare the commercial section within the tender approval packs for allocated countries/regions

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Law Degree (Preferable)

Knowledge about local legislation including Contract law, Civil Law, Subsoil user’s legislation

IT-Literate:

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook)

Company ERP Systems (SAP / Sales Force)

Mininum of 3 years relevant experience of working in a commercial function

Technical appreciation of Weir products & process’ (Preferred)

Fluent in Russian and English languages.

Efficient & effective in the planning and monitoring of work

Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others
