This is a fully onsite role. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. The Commercial Strategic Planner works directly with Sales, Sales Management, Sales Operations, Healthcare Economics, Marketing, and Finance to apply business management principles and financial concepts to identify and recommend pricing strategies that maximize Division's performance against sales and profit goals. The ideal candidate must have the ability to research, analyze, and interpret pricing data to produce substantiated recommendations. Uses analytical skills to proactively improve internal reporting, models, and metrics. Plays a key role on various cross-functional team projects that will require the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization. **What You’ll Work On** + Reporting--Monitors, analyzes and reports Division and competitive products ASP and pricing trends. Develop and publish pricing KPI’s, providing context and analysis on the drivers and performance. Builds forecast models, pricing sensitivity and elasticity analysis for specific new or existing product offerings. Provides reports and analysis to department and senior management as requested. + Pricing Operations--Develop tools and pricing models to analyze pricing requests. Perform quantitative analysis and provide pricing recommendations and consultative support to area and regional Sales Leaders to achieve desired goals. Participate in price council meetings to review pricing requests that fall outside general guidelines. + Pricing Analysis and Strategy--Provides analytics and benchmarks to assist in establishing pricing strategy and tactics. Measure effectiveness of pricing strategies. Track and measure incremental sales and margin associated with price changes. + Pricing Experience and Leadership--Assists with training sales, national and strategic account management, and other Division parties on pricing tools, policies, and procedures. Analyze current pricing rules and make recommendations to improve. Actively participates on a cross-functional team to develop a price setting and approval process within USD. Perform comparisons to industry/company benchmarks to identify pricing opportunities. + Follows all management approved processes and procedures; alerts management when circumstances require deviation to the approved processes and procedures. + Participates in cross-departmental meetings and conference calls as requested for the purpose of providing input and guidance regarding issues needing focus, attention, and action. + Creates work procedures as directed by management. + Provide back-up assistance to others on the Contract Operations management team as required. + Incorporates continuous improvement methods into departmental tasks. + Supports management initiatives. + Remains current on Division product information and developments in the area of pricing strategy. + Stays current with latest software and technology advancements. + Uses best judgment when performing requested tasks and challenges tasks which are questionable from a data integrity, business ethics or legal point of view. + Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
