DescriptionTo maintain a high standard of all food preparation and service in their respective Kitchens, according to the standards required by the management.

Special Note: \nThe attached key areas, responsibilities and activities reflect the items considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified and shall not be constructed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.\nThorough knowledge of the establishment’s facilities and personnel involved.\nGood knowledge of food service techniques and menu contents\nAware of the hotel fire and safety and emergency procedures.\nContributes and works as a team in the general operations of the kitchen(s), offering to assist fellow colleagues when required.\nMaintains a professional and friendly attitude towards guests during contact.\nEnsures a clean, professional appearance according to hotel grooming standards.\nAcquainted and familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observes the safety precautions when handling them.\nPractices the hygiene and sanitation procedures set by the hotel when handling food.\nEnsures proper use and cleaning of equipment in order to prolong the use and prevent damage.\nPractices economy where food, paper supplies, electricity and water are concerned.\nMaintains strict control on food portioning and wastage, ensuring gross food profitability.\nEnsures all staff have a clear understanding of the hotel fire and safety / emergency procedures.\nEnsures that food quality and standards are maintained at all times when preparing for restaurant and banquet functions.\n\n Assist in food stock taking as required.\n Adheres to all rules and regulations set by the management.\n Service first.\n Assist the Chef as required.\n Additional responsibilities and tasks can be added at any time according to the needs of the business and of the hotel 

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseTo fill the position, the following is required: \nHigh School or Equivalent\nHACCP certification preferred \nExperience in an F&B kitchen role \nEnglish – excellent oral and written skills\nAdditional language (Italian Speaker) – beneficial \nAbility to work as part of a team, thrive under pressure in challenging circumstances and come up with proactive, rational solutions\nGood written and verbal communication skills\nExcellent organizational and time management skills\nApplying a professional, confidential and ethical approach at all times\nWorking in a safe, prudent and organized manner\n
