Commissioning Agent - Mechanical
JOB TITLE: Commissioning Agent – Mechanical LOCATION: Sunnyvale, CA iParametrics, in collaboration with a premier construction firm, is seeking a Commissioning Agent specializing in Mechanical systems. This role will be crucial in ensuring the seamless commissioning of mechanical systems, maintaining high standards of performance, safety, and integration across complex projects. JOB DESCRIPTION The Mechanical Commissioning Agent will be a key figure within the Operations department, reporting directly to the Project Management team. This position involves overseeing the commissioning process for mechanical systems, ensuring they function as intended, meet project specifications, and integrate effectively into the overall project infrastructure. The Commissioning Agent will manage on-site quality control, assist with startup preparations, and resolve any mechanical-related issues that arise during commissioning. RESPONSIBILITIES + Manage the commissioning process for mechanical systems, ensuring systems are operational and compliant with project specifications and safety standards. + Coordinate with mechanical trade managers and subcontractors to support the startup and integration of mechanical systems. + Review and verify project submittal information for accuracy and functionality related to mechanical systems. + Facilitate training sessions for clients' personnel on the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and components. + Serve as the on-site technical advisor for mechanical systems, providing guidance and troubleshooting any issues related to mechanical components. + Oversee quality control efforts during commissioning, including inspections and ensuring safety precautions are adhered to before system operation. + Assist with preparing and managing Requests for Information (RFIs) and change documents related to mechanical systems BASIC QUALIFICATIONS + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. + Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction with a focus on mechanical systems and commissioning. + Strong understanding of mechanical systems, commissioning processes, and relevant safety standards. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and project management software (e.g., Prolog, Procore, Bluebeam). + Experience with design software such as AutoCAD and Revit. + Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. + Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage technical data accurately. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification. + Experience with high-tech or industrial projects involving complex mechanical systems. + Familiarity with relevant mechanical codes and standards.
